#RedLineSelfie
The viewer is invited to step into the context of a 3-dimensional, tubular metal line drawing, compose and share, an unusual selfie. #Redlineselfie, a temporary, interactive sculpture installation, inspired by the evolution of the self-portrait with the advent of the smart phone.
Commissioned by the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis, Massachusetts, Sept 24-Nov 15, 2015.
Built in components and anchored into the earth, the figurative metal sculptures are grouped together in arrangements one might envision for portraits of family, groups of friends, and couples. The viewer may join the arrangement, touch the sculptures, pose solo or with others. Selfie sticks, banned by many museums, were made available to visitors.
The sculptures are now deconstructed, and the components stored in hopes of being reconstructed in new ways on a new site. If your organization or business would like to host a version of #Redlineselfie to animate your site, please contact the artist.
