Peace to Paris and the World
Piazza Il Campo
Siena, Italy
The day after the Paris bombing, I walked through town with a real olive branch over my shoulder, passing out handwritten notecards that read, “Peace to Paris and the World” in 3 languages, French, Italian and English. Afterwards, the notecards were “stood up” in the cracks of the brick pavement in the main plaza. A slight breeze blew some over and I along with onlookers, stood the notecards up again and again, as a metaphor for standing up for peace.
